Oal is a kind of vegetable which is not liked by everybody but in deepawali it is compulsory in our culture.In the way I made it everybody like it.

Ingredients Serving: 5

  1. 500 gm oal
  2. 1/2 cup musturd oil
  3. 1/2 tsp musturd,cumin seed,fennel
  4. 2 onion of medium size
  5. 2-3 green chillies
  6. 8-10 garlic
  7. 1 tea spoon Turmeric powder
  8. 2 tea spoon dry mango powder
  9. 2 tea spoon sabji masala
  10. Salt to taste


  1. Wash the oal and Chopped it into large pieces and keep in the pressure cooker with half cup of water
  2. Close the cooker and boil it on 3 whistle and off the flame
  3. On cooling cut it into the small pieces
  4. On gas in a pan heat the oil put mustard cumin seed and fennel
  5. Now add green chillies garlic and onion
  6. When onion becomes light brown add oal into it and make it on high flame for 5 minutes
  7. After 5 flame on medium and mix properly the oal till golden brown colour
  8. Now add turmeric powder ,sabji masala and salt and roast it crispy
  9. At last add mango powder and mix properly
  10. Off the flame and you serve it with puri chapatis and rice
