Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Boiled potato-3
  2. Gram flour-100 gm
  3. Turmeric powder-1/3 tsp
  4. Red chilli powder-1/2 tsp
  5. Garam masala powder-1/3 tsp
  6. Chat masala powder-1/3 tsp
  7. Asafoetida (hing)-1/4 tsp (optional)
  8. Lemon Juice- 1 tbsp
  9. Cooking Oil for frying
  10. Salt to taste


  1. Grate the boiled potato in a bowl.
  2. Add gram flour,asafoetida, garam masala powder, turmeric powder, red chilli powder, lemon juice and salt to taste.
  3. Mix it properly and knead it into dough (add little water if needed).
  4. Add little oil into the dough to make it smooth.Take bhujiya making machine or sev maker and grease it with little oil from inside.
  5. Take the prepared dough and roll it into a log and gently place it in the bhujiya machine andclose the cap.
  6. Turn on the flame, heat sufficientoil in a thick and deep pan.Once the oil is heated properly, reduce the flame to medium.
  7. Carefully, press the bhujiya maker directly over the hot oil, move bhujiya maker it in a waythat the bhujiya is evenlydistributed in oil.
  8. Fry it on medium flame for few seconds and then flip it to fry other side.
  9. Once the bhujiya turns golden and crispy, take it out on kitchen towel to absorb extra oil.
  10. Repeat the same process for remaining dough.
  11. Slowly crush the fried bhujia to make small pieces, sprinkle little chat masala over it.
  12. Aloo bhujiya is ready to serve, you maystore it in an air-tight jar and consume it later.
