This is a very sweet dish made with milk and dry fruits in it. The milk is reduced on low flame. The grainy texture at the end makes it really tasty.
In a heavy bottomed pan add full fat milk. Make sure milk should be full fat to get the perfect creamy texture .
Add dry fruits and nutmeg powder and saffron strands.
Allow it to boil. Then on a very low flame let it simmer.
Keep stirring after 2-2 minutes.
Keep scraping the sides and mix it with the milk again and again.
There will be a creamy film on top . Mix it with the milk again and again. It will give the grainy texture at the end.
Keep cooking till the milk is reduced to 1/3rd.
Now add sugar , cardamom powder, and mix it well.
And garnish it with all chopped dry fruits.
And the bassundi is ready to serve .
