ABOUT Yummilicious Chop Suey RECIPE

A delicious noodles dish that is crispy and served with vegetables and tangy sauces. It can be said that it is a complete Chinese meal.

Ingredients Serving: 5

  1. 4 cups of boiled hakka noodles
  2. 1/2 tbsp cornflour to marinate the noodles
  3. Oil for deep frying
  4. 1/2 cup sliced onions
  5. 1/2 cup capsicum strips
  6. 1/2 cup shredded carrots
  7. 1/2 cup shredded cabbage
  8. 1 tbsp cornflour
  9. 2 tbsp oil
  10. 1 cup tomato ketchup
  11. 2 tsp chilli sauce
  12. 1 tbsp vinegar
  13. 1 tbsp sugar
  14. Black pepper 1 pinch
  15. Salt to taste


  1. Heat oil to deep fry the boiled noodles in a kadhai. Also marinate the noodles in 1/2 tbsp cornflour.
  2. Add the noodles and spread it to form a layer, fry till it turns crispy and light golden brown in colour from both the sides. Then take it out and drain it on a paper. Continue this process with the remaining noodles. Keep it aside.
  3. Dissolve 1 tbsp cornflour in 1 and 1/2 cup of water in a bowl and keep it aside.
  4. Take a non-stick pan and heat oil in it, then add in the onion and saute for a few minutes. Next add in the capsicum, cabbage, carrots and saute it on medium flame for 1 minute.
  5. Now add in the tomato ketchup and chilli sauce, mix it well and cook it for a few more minutes.
  6. Add the corn flour water, vinegar, sugar, black pepper powder, salt and mix it well. Cook it for a few minutes on a medium flame.
  7. Turn off the flame. Serve it by placing the crispy noodles in a serving dish and top one portion of the chop suey over it.
