Chilli Macaroni

Ingredients to make Chilli Macaroni

  • Pasta shells 2 cups
  • oil 1 tsp
  • salt 1 tsp
  • red chilli flakes 1 tsp
  • garlic chopped 1 tsp
  • Olive oil 1 tbsp
  • onion chopped 1/2 cup
  • Green capsicum diced into small pieces 1/2 cup
  • tomato chopped 1 small
  • Green chilli sauce 1-2 tsp
  • tomato Ketchup 1 tbsp
  • vinegar 1/2 tsp
  • Oregano seasoning 1 tsp
  • Black pepper powder 1/2 tsp
  • cilantro or parsley for garnishing

How to make Chilli Macaroni

  1. Boil 4 cups of water in a pan and add oil and salt to it.
  2. Once the water comes to a boil, add in the pasta shells and boil them till they are half cooked. (It took approximately 7 mins for me.)
  3. Drain the hot water and transfer the pasta into cold water. Keep them in cold water for 5 mins to avoid over cooking. Next, drain the water from the pasta.
  4. In a wok, add olive oil. Once the oil is hot, add in the garlic and crushed red chilli flakes. Saute for a minute.
  5. Now add in the onion and green capsicum. Keep the flame on high and saute the vegetables. Now add in the green chilli sauce and tomatoes.
  6. After a minute or two add in the tomato ketchup and vinegar. Mix well and cook it for a minute.
  7. Now add in the cooked pasta, black pepper and oregano. Roast the pasta shells for 2 - 3 minutes.
  8. Take it out on a serving platter and garnish it with green herbs to serve.

My Tip:

You can use any kind of pasta for this prepration. Also the chilli spice level can be adjusted to your own taste.
