Chilli Paneer

Ingredients to make Chilli Paneer

  • 250 gm paneer
  • 2 tsp chilli sauce
  • 3 tbsp tomato ketchup
  • 3 tbsp tomatoe puree
  • 1/2 tsp soya sauce
  • 1/2 tsp vinegar
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp garlic
  • 1/2 inch ginger
  • 1 onion (cut in square shapes)
  • 1 capsicum (cut in square shapes)
  • 1-2 tbsp oil
  • Spring onion greens to garnish
  • Marination Ingredients:
  • 3 tsp ketchup/puree
  • 1/2 tsp vinegar
  • 1/2 tsp soya sauce
  • 1/2 tsp garlic paste
  • 1/2 inch ginger paste
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp chilli sauce
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 4 tbsp cornflour

How to make Chilli Paneer

  1. Marinate the paneer with the marination ingredients except the cornflour.
  2. Then add the cornflour in the marinated paneer and keep it aside for a minimum of 15-20 minutes.
  3. Heat 2 tbsp oil in a pan. Saute the onion and capsicum in it. Then add in the ginger-garlic paste, chilli sauce, ketchup, puree, soya sauce, vinegar, salt and black pepper.
  4. In a kadai, heat oil on a high flame and fry the paneer pieces in it. Then drain and keep aside.
  5. Next, add the fried paneer cubes into the gravy mixture and stir well for 1-2 minutes.
  6. Serve in a bowl with a garnish of spring onion greens on top.

My Tip:

Do not keep the fried paneer aside for too long otherwise it will get soggy.
