Chilli Soya Nuggets

Ingredients to make Chilli Soya Nuggets

  • Soya Nuggets 2 cups
  • onion 2 medium sized
  • capsicum 1 large sized
  • ginger paste 1 tbsp
  • garlic paste 1 tbsp
  • green chillies 2-3
  • vinegar enough to soak the chillies
  • Soya sauce 2 tbsp
  • cornflour 1 tbsp
  • White oil 2 - 3 tbsp
  • sugar 1/2 tsp
  • salt to taste

How to make Chilli Soya Nuggets

  1. Soak the soya nuggets in hot water for about 20 mins or till they double in size.
  2. Squeeze out the excess water from the nuggets and marinate them with a bit of soya sauce and ginger garlic paste.
  3. Cut the onions and capsicum into big cubes. Then cut the green chilles into thick slices. Now soak the chilli slices in vinegar and keep aside.
  4. In a wok, add a tbsp of oil and saute the soya nuggets for a while, then keep them aside.
  5. Add some more oil to the wok, saute the onions and capsicum on a high flame for a minute. Add the sauteed soya nuggets and continue frying.
  6. Add the green chillies and vinegar mix to the soya in the wok. Add salt and a dash of sugar.
  7. Pour in the water or vegetable stock depending upon how much gravy you want. Give it a boil.
  8. Mix the cornflour with a bit of water and soya sauce, add this mix to the wok. Cook till the whole thickens to a desired consistency and take it off the fire.
  9. Serve it with fried rice, chow mein or simply with steamed rice.
