Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. banana stem 1 long piece
  2. cauliflower leaves 6 or 7 leaves
  3. Green peas 1/2 cup
  4. oil for shallow frying 2 tbsp
  5. Masalas for marinade:
  6. Dry ginger powder 1/4 tsp
  7. Mango powder 1/2 tsp
  8. haldi 1/2 tsp
  9. chilli powder 1/2 tsp
  10. besan 2 tbsp
  11. rice powder 1 tbsp
  12. hing powder 1/4 tsp
  13. salt to taste
  14. Dhanya powder 1/4 tsp
  15. jeera powder 1/4 tsp
  16. Garam masala and coriander for garnishing


  1. Cut the banana stem into thin roundels and place them in salted buttermilk water.
  2. Clean and wash cauliflower leaves and chop into small pieces.
  3. Wash the green peas. Keep aside. Then drain the water from the banana stem roundels.
  4. Mix the veggies together, and marinate in all the masalas. Sprinkle water for binding.
  5. Take a kadai and heat the oil, add in the marinated veggies and fry them for a few minutes.
  6. Cover the kadai and allow the mixture to roast under cover.
  7. Garnish with a pinch of garam masala and chopped coriander leaves.
