Saucy Prawns

Ingredients to make Saucy Prawns

  • Prawns- 250 grams
  • garlic cloves- 10 (chopped)
  • Ginger-garlic paste- 2 teaspoon
  • green chillies- 2 (chopped)
  • White vinegar- 1 teaspoon
  • Soya sauce- 1 tablespoon
  • tomato sauce- 4 tablespoons
  • red chilli sauce- 2 tablespoons
  • Oyster sauce- 1 teaspoon (optional)
  • water-1/2 cup
  • salt to taste
  • Black pepper-1 teaspoon
  • honey- 1 teaspoon
  • oil- 2 tablespoon
  • spring onions -2 tablespoons (chopped) (green portions)

How to make Saucy Prawns

  1. Mix the prawns with a pinch of salt, black pepper and vinegar. Keep it aside for 30 minutes.
  2. Heat oil in a pan, add in the prawns, fry them until they are light brown in colour. Do not over cook, otherwise the prawns will get hard. Keep them aside.
  3. Add in the garlic cloves and fry them until they are light brown in colour. Then add in the green chillies.
  4. Add in the tomato sauce, soy sauce, red chilli sauce and oyster sauce, mix it well. Add in the remaining vinegar and honey. Mix and cook for 2 minutes.
  5. Add in the salt and black pepper. Mix and stir well. Add in 1/2 cup of water and bring it to a boil. Then simmer the gas when the water starts boiling.
  6. Cook for 2 minutes, then add in the fried prawns. Mix and cover it. Cook for 1-2 minutes on a low flame.
  7. Garnish with chopped spring onions and serve it.

My Tip:

If you want some thick gravy, you can add 1 tablespoon corn flour mixed with 1/4 cup warm water.
