Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Milk - 1 litre
  2. Lemon Juice - 2 to 3 tablespoon
  3. Sugar - 1 tablespoon
  4. Jaggery (Date Palm Jaggery/Khejur Gur/Nolen Gur) - grated, 3/4 cup
  5. Cashew or raisin (optional) for garnishing

Instructions

  1. Boil the milk and put lemon juice (as required) to make chena (cottage cheese).
  2. Now once the chena cools down, separate it from the water. Drain the water completely.
  3. Take this chena in a pan and add sugar and mix properly with hand for 5- 10 minutes.
  4. Put the pan (along with the mixture) on gas flame and stir continuously for 5 mins.
  5. Then add the jaggery and allow it to melt. Till then keep on stirring it.
  6. Once it melts completely, switch off the gas and allow it to cool.
  7. If you wish can garnish with cashew or raisin and serve the delicious Bengali sweet dish.
