ABOUT Mix Green Saag with Traditional Sindhi Bread (Doda) RECIPE

Saag is made by infusion of green leafy veggies available in winter served with rice flour paratha which is spiced with some veggies

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. For mix green saag
  2. Spinach 2cups Chopped
  3. Fenugreek leaves (methi)1cup
  4. Spring onions 1cup
  5. Spring garlic 1/2cup
  6. Onions 1big
  7. Tomato 2big
  8. Ginger garlic paste 1/2tsp
  9. Green chilli 3
  10. Salt to taste
  11. Red chilli powder 1tsp
  12. Turmeric powder 1/2tsp
  13. Oil 2tbsp
  14. For Doda (rice flour paratha or bread)
  15. Rice flour 2cups
  16. Finely chopped onion 1
  17. finely chopped tomato 1
  18. Finely chopped potato 1
  19. Green chilli 1
  20. Coriander leaves 1/2cup chopped
  21. Salt
  22. Red chilli powder 1tsp
  23. Oil for brushing

Instructions

  1. Saag-
  2. Heat oil in kadai, add ginger garlic paste. Saute then add chopped onions to it cook it till light brown
  3. Mix all green leafy veggies and wash with water. Drain extra water and add to onions
  4. Let it cook for 2-3minutes on high flame
  5. Add tomatoes green chilli salt red chilli powder and turmeric powder to it. Put a lid on kadhai and lower the flame
  6. After 2-3minutes, remove the lid and mix veggies nicely on high flame
  7. Cook till water of veggies reduces and oil comes out Saag is ready
  8. For Doda -
  9. Combine rice flour and all finely chopped veggies together add salt and chilli powder
  10. Make a dough using water
  11. Take a portion of dough and make a round and flat ball
  12. Roll it on greased plastic sheet
  13. Cook it on tava on high flame
  14. Brush oil on both sides and make a crisp and moist Doda
  15. Serve saag with doda.
