Steamed Veg Momos - Health with a twist (Veggis, Paneer & Dryfruits)

Ingredients Serving: 5

  1. 1 cup finely chopped cabbage
  2. 1 cup finely chopped other vegetables like carrot, beans, capsicum
  3. Crumbled paneer- 1/2 cup
  4. Ghee 2 tbsp for frying and 1 tsp for dough
  5. Green chilli - 1 or more
  6. Onion - 2 finely chopped
  7. Almonds and cashew chunks 1 tbsp
  8. Salt to taste
  9. Maida - 2 cup
  10. Warm Water enough to knead
  11. Crushed garlic - 2 cloves

Instructions

  1. Heat a Kadai.
  2. Add Ghee and once heated and garlic and saute for 30 seconds.
  3. Now add onion and chilli and fry for 3-4 minutes till onions become translucent.
  4. Now add all veggies and fry it for 5-6 min stirring occasionally.
  5. Add Paneer, mix and fry for 1 min.
  6. Switch off the flame and let it cool down.
  7. In the meantime make the dough.
  8. In a bowl take maida, Ghee and salt and mix it.
  9. Add warm water to it and knead soft and smooth dough. cover it with lid and set aside for 5 min.
  10. Add salt to filling when it turns cold
  11. Now make small balls of dough and roll it (Not very thin nor very thick).
  12. Add 1 spoon of filling and fold it from all sides and close on top and put it in steamer.
  13. Put vessel with 3-4 inches of water on fire and once water comes to a boil, place the steamer on it make sure water does not touch the bottom of the steamer.
  14. Cover the lid of steamer.
  15. Let it steam on full flame for 12-15 minutes.
  16. Momos are done. You can see shine on momos.
  17. Pack it in your kid's lunch box with sauce or dip of his/her choice. Or you can take in your lunch box with spicy tomato chutney. Its yummm

Can these be made in microwave idli gadget. If yes, then for how much time they should be steamed ?
