ABOUT Amla and Fresh Turmeric Juice. RECIPE

Amla or Amalaki is said to be the most used ayurvedic ingredient. It is both a food and medicine. According to Ayurveda amla juice is known to balance all body processes and bring to equilibrium all the three doshas of body- vata, kapha and pitta. We have a lot of amla trees and we prepare the juice regularly

Ingredients Serving: 10

  1. Amla 1 kg
  2. Fresh turmeric 50gms
  3. Fresh Ginger(optional) 25 gms
  4. Pudina leaves 8-10

Instructions

  1. Wash all the ingredients separately and keep out to dry
  2. Cut amla and remove the seeds from it, and peel fresh turmeric and ginger.( ginger can be avoided by those who have acidity). Fresh mint leaves are added to enhance the flavour of juice.
  3. Put all the ingredients in a juicer( if you don't have a juicer, you can also use a mixer). Add ingredients according to the size of your juicer. Add some water
  4. Repeat the process till all amlas are finished, and strain the juice through a fine strainer and transfer into sterilised glass bottle. It can be stored up to 1 week in the refrigerator. 1kg amla would yield around 1 litre of juice.
  5. Consume this juice on an empty stomach first thing in the morning. Diluted with water if required. It is some sligtly bitter in taste. You can add a spoonful of honey to it to make it drinkable
