It has been used for thousands of years to treat stomach ailments, ulcers, liver problems, fever and as an antiseptic for wounds and sore throats.The pickle I made is a traditional Gujarati pickle. It is ayurvedic not only because of it’s health benefits but also in the sense that it has a balance of all flavours.As a pickle it goes great with just about anything. If you are eating a shaak or dal with some flatbread, you can add a little turmeric amla pickle for a pleasant crunch.
