Sweet Corn Pulav

Ingredients to make Sweet Corn Pulav

  • Basmati rice - 1 big glass ( washed and kept aside)
  • Sweet corn - 1 cup
  • onion - 2 thinly sliced
  • tomato - 1 chopped small
  • ginger -1 tspn chopped
  • green chilly - 2 slit
  • Garam masala whole(adjust to taste)
  • fennel seeds - 1/4 tsp
  • jeera - 1 tspn
  • Pepper corns - 5 to 6
  • bay leaf - 1
  • cloves - 4
  • cinnamon - small piece
  • cardamom - 2
  • lemon juice - half lemon
  • salt to taste
  • oil - 2 tbspn
  • coriander leaves for garnish
  • Water for cooking - 1 & 1/2 glass or double the quantity of rice

How to make Sweet Corn Pulav

  1. Wash the rice & soak for 15 minutes
  2. In a cooker put oil. put the whole garam masala and fry.
  3. Then add onion slices and then add chopped ginger and green chilly.
  4. Saute well for a few minutes
  5. Put chopped tomato. mix well then add sweet corn and saute well
  6. Put rice & fry for a few minutes on low to medium flame.
  7. Pour the measured water, salt & lemon juice. Give a nice stir
  8. Close the lid of the pressure cooker
  9. Let it cook on low to medium flame for about 1-2 whistles
  10. Turn off the gas and let it rest for some time.
  11. Before serving garnish with coriander leaves.
  12. Serve hot with raita, pickle & papad.
