Basil and Tomato Pasta

Ingredients to make Basil and Tomato Pasta

  • Fusilli pasta 2 cups boiled
  • tomato puree 1 cup
  • garlic 1 tbsp finely chopped
  • onion 1 medium finely chopped
  • chilli powder 1 tsp
  • sugar 1 tsp
  • fresh cream 6 tbsp
  • fresh basil 10, chopped
  • butter 2 tbsp
  • For the garnish 5 tbsp grated processed cheese

How to make Basil and Tomato Pasta

  1. Heat the butter in a pan, add onions ,garlic and saute it till raw smell goes and onions turn translucent.
  2. Now add the tomato puree and cook till the sauce thickens .
  3. Then add the chilli powder, sugar, salt and cook till oil gets separated.
  4. Now add 1/2 cup of water and bring to a boil.
  5. Once the water gets boiled add the cream and basil leaves. Mix well and keep aside.the sauce is ready.
  6. before serving, re-heat the basil and tomato sauce and toss it on boiled fusilli pasta.
  7. Serve hot garnished with cheese.

My Tip:

for tomato puree blanch the tomatoes then remove the skin and make puree.
