Tomato and Garlic Fusilli Pasta

Ingredients to make Tomato and Garlic Fusilli Pasta

  • tomatoes 250 gm blanched and pureed
  • onion 1/4 cup finely chopped
  • ginger paste 1/2 teaspoon
  • garlic paste 1 teaspoon
  • sugar 1/2 teaspoon
  • salt to taste
  • Dried thyme crushed 1/4 teaspoon
  • Dried basil crushed 1/4 teaspoon
  • Oregano 1/4 teaspoon
  • olive oil 1 tablespoon
  • tomato ketchup 2 tablespoons
  • For pasta
  • Fusilli (Spiral pasta) 1.5 cups boiled till al dente
  • capsicum assorted diced 1/2 cup
  • carrots finely chopped 1/4 cup
  • Cherry tomatoes 5 to 6

How to make Tomato and Garlic Fusilli Pasta

  1. FOR PASTA SAUCE Take oil in a,saucepan and heat it. Add ginger garlic paste and onions and saute for few minutes.
  2. Now pour the tomato puree into the saucepan
  3. Mix the salt, sugar, thyme, oregano and basil
  4. Simmer for 10 minutes till sauce is done. At this stage you will see oil oozing out from the sides
  5. Put off flame and keep the prepared pasta sauce aside
  7. In a skillet heat a little olive oil add the onions , followed by carrots and capsicum. Saute for a while
  8. Now add the boiled spiral pasta and prepared past sauce. Toss gently.
  9. Adjust seasoning
  10. Put off flame and serve at once

My Tip:

You could add fresh basil leaves instead of dried basil
