ABOUT Dhuska (Delicacy from Jharkhand) RECIPE

Dhuska is a traditional deep fried poori recipe from Jharkhand. It is a festive recipe which is very easy to make. This recipe is good for breakfast and snack.

Ingredients Serving: 3

  1. 1 cup Rice (washed, soaked in water for 4 to 5 hours)
  2. ½ Cup, Chana Dal (washed, soaked in water for 4 to 5 hours)
  3. 2 tbsp, Green Peas
  4. 3 Green Chilles, finely chopped
  5. Salt to taste
  6. 2 tbsp, Coriander Leaves, finely chopped
  7. 1/5 tsp, Turmeric Powder
  8. Mustard Oil, to deep fry

Instructions

  1. Grind rice and chana dal with water to a idli/dosa batter consistency.
  2. Now add green peas, green chillies, salt, turmeric powder and chopped coriander. Mix well.
  3. Heat oil in a pan. When the oil is hot, pour some batter directly in the oil with the help of a laddle. Deep fry both the sides till it changes the colour.
  4. Transfer them on a paper towel.
  5. Repeat the process with with remaining batter. Serve hot with chutney or aloo ki sabzi.

Latha although I have not tried this recipe, but I feel that if boiled peas r used they will get cooked easily. Raw peas will not get fully cooked,
