ABOUT #Dhuska RECIPE

Dhuska is a Jharkhand special recipe for breakfast. Rice and chana dal batter is directly poured into hot oil and this flat bread is served with spicy chickpea curry and chutney.

Ingredients Serving: 6

  1. Idli rice 1 cup
  2. Chana dal 1 cup
  3. Green pea pearls 1/2 cup
  4. Cilantro 2 tbsp
  5. Green chilli 2
  6. Salt 1 tsp
  7. Asafoetida 1 pinch

Instructions

  1. Soak rice and dal together overnight.
  2. Wash and grind rice and dal mix with a little water to get idli/dosa batter consistency.
  3. Add peas, chopped cilantro and green chilli with salt and asafoetida. Mix well.
  4. Heat oil in a flat bottomed pan. Pour a ladleful of batter in hot oil. The batter will spread on it's own in oil and puff up.
  5. Deep fry both sides till colour changes to golden.
  6. Drain on a paper towel.
  7. Serve hot with chickpea curry and spicy tomato chutney.
