Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Black night shade (manathakkali Keerai) leaves 1 cup
  2. onion 1 big
  3. Ginger garlic paste 1/2 teaspoon
  4. Turmeric powder 1/4teaspoon
  5. Chilly powder 1/2 teaspoon
  6. Wheat flour 2cups
  7. Salt to taste
  8. sugar 1 teaspoon
  9. Oil 2 tablespoons


  1. Kneed dough with wheat flour salt and 1 tablespoon oil and keep aside for 15 minutes
  2. Chop finely onion and keerai
  3. Heat a Kadai and pour oil and saute ginger garlic paste
  4. Add onion and saute till transparent
  5. Add chopped keerai and saute for five minutes
  6. Add turmeric powder, chilly powder, salt and sugar
  7. Cover the kadai with lid and allow to cook for two more minutes
  8. Let it cool
  9. Make small balls of dough as for roti
  10. Roll slightly four sides of each ball so that the centre portion will be thick
  11. Put the filling on the centre
  12. Fold the dough to a ball and roll as roti
  13. Cook it in Tawa with lid on it
  14. Spread ghee and serve hot with tomato chutney
