Scottish Egg

Ingredients to make Scottish Egg

  • Minched chicken - 2 cups
  • Bread crumbs - 1 1/2 cup
  • chilli powder - 1 tbsp
  • pepper powder - 1tbsp
  • turmeric powder - 1/4 tbsp
  • Garam masala - 1tbsp
  • eggs - 3 (boiled and peeled)
  • salt to taste

How to make Scottish Egg

  1. Take a large bowl
  2. ( refer picture for clear idea... Follow the number series) Bring in the minched chicken, bread crumbs, Chilli powder, turmeric powder, pepper powder, garam masala, and salt. Then mix well with hands to make a smooth dough.
  3. (refer picture for clear idea...follow the number series) Divide into 3 equal portions. Then flatten it and place an egg in it and cover without any gap.
  4. Deep fry and serve hot.

My Tip:

The original Scottish egg recipe needs to have a gooey yolk. For this, the egg must be boiled only for 5 minutes and exactly after 5 minutes run through a sieve and immerse eggs in cold water and peel after the eggs cool down completely. Patience is required for this since the egg is half cooked. The uncooked egg will get cooked while frying. While packing the egg don't press hard or else the eggs will break
