Egg Puffs....

Ingredients to make Egg Puffs....

  • About 12 puff pastries
  • 6 boiled eggs
  • FOR THE ONION masala...
  • onions finely sliced large 2
  • salt to taste
  • chilli flakes 1 tbsp
  • Garam masala 1 tsp
  • All spice powder or cumin powder 1 tsp
  • Beaten egg 1..(for egg wash)

How to make Egg Puffs....

  1. Defrost your puff pastry block by letting it sit in your kitchen counter for about 20 mins .
  2. Boil the eggs . Peel the shell off and cut them into halves .
  3. Preheat your oven at 180 degrees C
  4. Prepare the onion masala.
  5. Heat some oil in a pan, add the sliced onions.
  6. Add garlic mince now.
  7. Next add garam masala, all spice powder and salt.
  8. Let the onion mix cook for about 5 to 8 minutes and then switch off the flame.
  9. With your puff pastry kept diagonally , place an egg with it's yolk side down and spoon some onion mix and then place an egg half on it upside down.
  10. Pull up the opposite sides and secure them over the egg by pinching carefully so as to not tear apart the dough .
  11. Brush them with egg wash.
  12. Bake for 25-30 mins or until golden brown .
  13. Serve hot with ketchup or any other sauce of your likes .

My Tip:

Do not let the puff pastries defrost for a very long time because they tend to become too soft and will fall apart easily , thus making it difficult to work them out into our desired shapes . Always work quickly with puff pastries . They tend to become soft very easily . You can do absolutely anything you want with these . The possibilities are endless . And a very important thing to keep in mind is that to never use too much oil or butter. Alwyz use oil as minimally as possible .
