Chocolate Caramel Bars

Ingredients to make Chocolate Caramel Bars

  • Base: 160 gms or 1 cup maida
  • 45 gms or 1/2 cup Desiccated coconut
  • 100 gms or 1/2 cup Melted butter
  • 80 gms or 1/2 cup Brown sugar
  • For Filling: 60 gms or 1/4 cup butter
  • 400 gms or 1 can Condensed milk
  • 3 tbsp honey
  • Topping: 170 gms or 1 and 1/2 cup Chopped dark chocolate
  • 1 tbsp Vegetable oil

How to make Chocolate Caramel Bars

  1. For the base, mix maida, desiccated coconut, melted butter and brown sugar in a bowl and mix well. In a baking pan, place parchment paper and spread the base mixture. Prick it lightly with a fork on top.
  2. Bake at 180 degree Centigrade for 15-20 minutes.
  3. For filling, add condensed milk, butter and honey in a saucepan and heat it on low flame till it becomes thick. Stir continuously for 8-10 minutes.
  4. Pour this caramel mixture over the base and spread properly and again bake at 180 degree Centigrade for 10 minutes.
  5. Allow it to cool at room temperature and then put in the fridge for 45 minutes.
  6. Later pour the melted chocolate over cooled caramel and refrigerate for 10 minutes.
  7. Once it is out of the fridge cut into pieces.
  8. Delicious caramel bars are ready.

My Tip:

Please take care while baking caramel. If you over bake it, it will burn.
