Chia Kokum Concoction

Ingredients to make Chia Kokum Concoction

  • 2 tbsps Chia seeds
  • 4-5 kokum fruits
  • 2 Cups water
  • 1 tbsp powdered jaggery

How to make Chia Kokum Concoction

  1. Soak the Chia seeds in 1 cup of water for 4-6 hours or overnight.
  2. Soak the kokum in the remaining water for 4-6 hours or overnight.
  3. Boil the kokum infused water along with the fruit for 5 minutes.
  4. Cover with a lid and allow to rest for 10 minutes.
  5. Mash the soaked fruits to extract maximum flavour of the kokum.
  6. Strain the liquid to get clear kokum juice.
  7. Mix in the powdered jaggery.
  8. Add this to the soaked chia seeds.
  9. Adjust the sweetness if needed.
  10. Store refrigerated in an air tight glass jar and consume within 3-4 days.
  11. Enjoy this healthy drink chilled or at room temperature.

My Tip:

You can skip the jaggery and add pepper and salt instead. This tastes a lot like a lemonade and I love it chilled. It is something that your whole family and even your guests can enjoy.
