About Hariyali Chicken Tikka Recipe

Haryali chicken is a green kebab made out of green chilies, coriander leaves and mint blended well till it gives a natural green colour, thus it is called the haryali chicken tikka. You can add green food colour as well, however as I wanted the natural green colour of the ingredients I have avoided this.

Hariyali Chicken Tikka

Ingredients to make Hariyali Chicken Tikka

  • 1/2 bunch - fresh coriander
  • 10 - mint leaves
  • 1 - piece ginger (2 cm)
  • 2 - cloves garlic
  • 1 - tablespoon salt
  • 450 gms - skinless boneless chicken breasts (diced)

How to make Hariyali Chicken Tikka

  1. In a food processor, puree the fresh coriander, mint leaves, ginger, garlic, lemon juice, green chili and salt together.
  2. Place the chicken in a large bowl and rub it with this mixture. Cover and refrigerate for 2 to 3 hours.
  3. Cook it in a large pan over medium heat till the inside is no longer pink and the outside is golden brown. Note to stir it often to prevent it from sticking to the pan.
  4. If you are using a grill, preheat it and lightly grease a baking dish. Place the chicken in the baking dish and grill for 20 minutes or till the chicken juices run clear.
  5. Serve it hot to enjoy.
