Dry Fruit Nuggets

Ingredients to make Dry Fruit Nuggets

  • dates -1 cup
  • Chopped almonds - 2tbsp
  • Dry coconut, grated - 2 tbsp
  • raisins - 2 tbsp
  • poppy seeds - 2 tbsp
  • Powdered sugar - 1 tsp (optional)

How to make Dry Fruit Nuggets

  1. Dry roast the poppy seeds over low heat and keep aside when they start turning brown
  2. Chop dates and grind to a paste in an electronic grinder
  3. Chop almonds/ other nuts and dry roast on a low flame for 5 minutes. Coarsely grind in a grinder and add to the ground dates
  4. Finely chop the raisins and add to the dates
  5. Dry roast the coconut on a low heat for 5 mins and add to the ground dates. Mix thoroughly and form into small balls/ nuggets with your palms
  6. Roll the nuggets in the poppy seeds so as to cover them fully
  7. Store in an airtight container

My Tip:

If the dough seems very loose, add sugar and proceed. You can also refrigerate the dough for an hour and then form the balls. They will be firmer that way
