Ingredients to make Lauki pulao

  • rice-1 cup
  • bottle gourd or lauki-1 cup grated
  • ghee for seasoning
  • cumin Seeds-1 tsp
  • salt to taste
  • turmeric-1/2 tsp
  • red chilli powder-1 tsp
  • Garam masala-1/2 tsp
  • peanuts-1 tbsp(optional)
  • Fried onions(optional)

How to make Lauki pulao

  1. Take a cooker and add ghee .Add cumin seeds to the ghee.
  2. Now add grated bottle gourd and rice alongwith all masalas and salt.If adding peanuts fry them before adding cumin seeds.
  3. Close the cooker and take 3 to 4 whistles.
  4. If you wish you can add fried onions before serving.

My Tip:

Very nutritious dish for small kids who normally dont like lauki. Can serve with curd or soup.
