Ingredients to make Kara Boondi Mixture

  • gram flour 1 cup
  • Rice flour 1/4 Cup
  • water as required to make a slightly thin than a bajji batter
  • salt as per taste
  • red chilli powder as per taste
  • Nuts as per choice
  • corn flakes
  • curry leaves few
  • oil for Deep frying

How to make Kara Boondi Mixture

  1. Mix rice flour and gram flour, add water and make a batter which is slightly thin.
  2. Heat the oil to smoking point, take two ladles one with holes one for boondi and other for removing bonding from oil.
  3. Add a ladle of batter over the ladle with holes holding it just above the oil and spread it. Wipe the ladle, fry the boondi until light and crisp.
  4. Take the fried boondi out of oil and spread it on a paper towel and repeat the process until the batter is over.
  5. Fry flattened rice, nuts and corn flakes with curry leaves.
  6. Add salt, chilli powder and garlic paste to the deep fried mixture and mix well.
  7. Remove into an airtight container, stores well for 2 weeks.
