Deep Fried Prawns

Ingredients to make Deep Fried Prawns

  • Prawns - 500 gms
  • ginger Garlic Paste - 2 Tbsp
  • red chilly powder - 1 tbsp
  • turmeric Powder - 1 tsp
  • Garam masala Powder - 1 tsp
  • cumin powder - 1/2 tsp
  • Corainder powder - 1 tsp
  • corn flour - 2 tbsp
  • salt to taste
  • Red food colour - a pinch (optional)
  • oil - 1 cup

How to make Deep Fried Prawns

  1. Clean the prawns thoroughly with water. Devine them and pat dry with kitchen towel. Keep aside.
  2. Take all the above ingredients except oil in a mixing bowl and make them into a smooth paste by adding little water.
  3. Marinate the cleaned prawns on it for atleast 30 mins. The longer marination the better.
  4. Heat oil in a frying pan.
  5. When the oil is hot, reduce the heat and drop the prawns and deep fry the in batches in low-medium flame till golden.
  6. Serve it as an appetizer or as a side dish.

My Tip:

You can try this variation, before frying dip each piece in bread crumbs and fry it.
