Ingredients to make Baked Rose Pithe

  • Rice basmati 1 cups / rice flour 1 cups
  • Milk 1 cup
  • salt 1/4 tsp
  • Oil or ghee 2 tsp
  • Wheat flour for dusting 2 tsp
  • For sugar Syrup :
  • sugar 1 cup
  • water 1 cup
  • cardamom 4
  • saffron strands 4_5

How to make Baked Rose Pithe

  1. Soak rice for 3_4 hrs
  2. Now spread in a colander
  3. Dry and grind to a fine powder
  4. Boil milk in a heavy pan
  5. Add salt
  6. Add rice flour
  7. Mix and switch off gas
  8. When mixture is little cold make a soft dough with greased palm
  9. Make small balls
  10. Now roll them
  11. Now take 3 , stack them above each other
  12. Now cut in circular shape with the help of a cutter
  13. It will look like this
  14. Now make three slits with knife
  15. Now put one small ball in the centre
  16. Now start folding to make petals
  17. Continue to make petals , press the edges with little water
  18. Finally it will look like this
  19. Now preheat the oven to 200 degrees centigrade for 10 mins
  20. Now grease a baking tray with oil
  21. Put the roses and brush them with little oil
  22. Now bake for 35_40 mins
  23. Now make sugar syrup
  24. Boil water , add sugar
  25. Add cardamom and saffron stands
  26. Simmer them for 15 mins
  27. Switch off gas
  28. Let it be little cool , we need warm syrup not hot
  29. Now immerse the baked roses in warm sugar syrup
  30. Garnish with chopped dry fruits
