Nawabi Pulao

Ingredients to make Nawabi Pulao

  • Mutton Keema 300 gm
  • Basmati rice 3 cups(soaked in water for 15 min)
  • onion sliced 3
  • ginger paste 1 tp
  • garlic paste 2 tp
  • Salt and sugar to taste
  • turmeric powder 1 tp
  • red chilli powder 1 tp
  • Slit green chillies 4
  • cumin powder 2 tp
  • Chopped tomatoes 1 big
  • Garam masala powder 1 tp
  • Whole garam masala
  • Bayleaves 3
  • javitri 1/4 tp
  • jaiphal 1/4 tp
  • Kewra water 3 drops
  • ghee 2 Tbsp
  • White oil 2 tbsp

How to make Nawabi Pulao

  1. 1 Heat a non stick heavy pan and add ghee and white oil and heat.
  2. 2 Add bayleaves and whole garam masala.Saute for few seconds.
  3. 3 Add sliced onions and saute till it turns brown.
  4. 4 Now add ginger and garlic paste and saute till the raw smell is gone.
  5. 5 Add chopped tomatoes and fry till it leaves oil.
  6. 6 Now add washed and drained keema and saute for few min till the keema is little sealed and fried.
  7. 7 Now add turmeric powder,red chilli powder,cumin powder,salt,sugar,garam masala powder and saute till the spices and keema are cooked and leaves oil.
  8. 7 Now add soaked,drained rice to the saute keema and and fry the keema and rice together for 3 min.
  9. 8 Now add 4 cups of water(double the amount of rice) to the keema and rice.Add javitri,jaiphal. Bring it to boil and add kewra water,slit green chillies and simmer till the water dries and rice is cooked with the keema.Mutton keema pulao is ready.
  10. Serve with saffron chicken,omellete and raita

My Tip:

Can be cooked in microoven also.Chicken keena can be used.
