ABOUT Sura puttu RECIPE

The perfect combination of garlic and chillies with fish is a great supplement of calcium for children and lactating mothers .

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Shark fillet 1/2 kg
  2. Onion finely chopped 1 cup
  3. Green chillies finely chopped 1 tsp
  4. Garlic cloves 10
  5. Ginger finely chopped 1 tsp
  6. Turmeric powder 2 tsp
  7. chilli powder 1 tsp
  8. Pepper powder 1 tsp
  9. Salt to taste
  10. Oil 3 tsp
  11. Ingredients for tempering
  12. Mustard seeds 1 tsp
  13. Curry leaves 1 sprig
  14. Urad dal 1 tsp

Instructions

  1. Boil the fish fillet with salt and turmeric powder. Drain the water and allow to cool. Remove the skin and scramble the fish fillet.
  2. In a wok add oil and add the ingredients for tempering. Add onions, green chillies, garlic and ginger saute until the onions are translucent.
  3. Now add the fish ,salt, chilli powder and cook for two to three minutes.
  4. Add pepper powder and serve Sura puttu .
