Spanish Flan (Caramel Pudding)

Ingredients to make Spanish Flan (Caramel Pudding)

  • Milk 1/2 litre
  • sugar 1/2 cup
  • Vanilla essence 1 teaspoon
  • sugar 5 Teaspoons for Caramel
  • water 2 Teaspoon
  • 4 eggs

How to make Spanish Flan (Caramel Pudding)

  1. In a nonstick pan add 5 Teaspoons sugar and 2 Teaspoon water to make caramel.
  2. Put the pan on the Gas Stove and make caramel till the sugar melts and turns golden in colour.
  3. Then pour the caramel in a pan in which you have to make the pudding.
  4. Let the caramel cool down and settle in the pan.
  5. Boil half litre milk and add 1/2 cup sugar in it and then keep it aside.
  6. Beat 4 eggs and add 1 Teaspoon vanilla essence in it.
  7. Now slowly pour this egg mixture in milk.
  8. Mix it well.
  9. Now pour this mixture in the pan in which caramel is settled.
  10. Keep the pan in a pressure cooker and cook for 15 minutes.
  11. Once it is cooked keep it aside and let it cool down.
  12. Take a dish and keep it on the pan and tap it upside down.

My Tip:

Please do not put whistle on the cooker. This recipe can be done in the oven as well. But before baking we have to put the pan in a tray filled with water.
