ABOUT Jaljeera RECIPE

A refreshing drink that's also an excellent appetizer and is a great accompaniment for most Indian chaat (snack) dishes.

Ingredients Serving: 2

  1. Chopped coriander - 50 gms
  2. Green Chilies - 2 to 3
  3. Mint leaves - 5 to 6
  4. Lemon juice - 4 tsp
  5. Chaat masala - 1 tsp
  6. Black Salt - 1/2 tsp
  7. Jeera powder - 1/2 tsp
  8. Black Pepper powder to taste
  9. Roasted and crushed Cumin seeds (Jeera) - as required
  10. Salt to taste

Instructions

  1. Grind together the coriander leaves, mint leaves, green chilies and 2 tsp lemon juice to a fine paste.
  2. Transfer it to a bowl, add salt, black salt, chaat masala, pepper powder, remaining lemon juice and jeera powder. Mix well.
  3. Dilute it with as much water as required to make 2 glasses, taking care not to add too much.
  4. Stir well, add ice cubes and serve, sprinkled with the crushed jeera.
