A very easy and tasty chicken curry .

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Chicken 650 grams
  2. 2 large tomatoes cut into cubes
  3. 4 large onions finely chopped
  4. 2 medium potatoes cut into cubes
  5. 2 garlic finely shredded
  6. 3 inch ginger finely shredded
  7. 2 teaspoon turmeric powder
  8. Salt as per your taste
  9. 2 Bay Leaves
  10. 1 Cinnamon stick
  11. 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon powder
  12. 1 teaspoon cardamom powder
  13. 5 tablespoon oil preferably mustard oil

Instructions

  1. First heat oil in a pan
  2. When the oil becomes hot add bay leaves
  3. Then break the cinnamon stick into small pieces and add to the pan
  4. Add the chopped onions
  5. Mix properly
  6. Fry the onions till golden brown
  7. Add the garlic and fry till the raw smell goes
  8. Add ginger and fry
  9. Once ginger smell goes add chicken
  10. Mix the chicken thoroughly with the onion mix
  11. Add turmeric powder and salt
  12. Add the tomatoes and potates
  13. Now cover the pan and let the chicken cook for 25 mins in slow flame.
  14. Gently mix the curry in between so as to prevent it from sticking to the bottom
  15. After some time you will see oil floating on the top.
  16. Check the chicken for doneness.it should be almost cooked not fully cooked
  17. When chicken is almost cooked add hot water as per your requirement of gravy consistency
  18. If you want a more gravy add little more water
  19. Now put the flame on high and cook for 10 more minutes
  20. When the chicken is done switch off the flame
  21. Now add cinnamon and cardamom powder
  22. Gently mix
  23. Serve hot
