ABOUT Banana & Icecream Dome RECIPE

A dessert made with humble banana. You would look forward what beneath the drizzle of chocolate lies strips of vanilla and strawberry icecrem and surprise core of banana cake.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. FOR THE DOME
  2. 1 cup or more vanilla ice cream, softened
  3. 1 cup or more Strawberry ice cream, softened
  4. For banana chocolate ganache:
  5. 150 gms semisweet chocolate, chopped
  6. 1 very ripe banana, mashed

  9. FOR THE HARD CHOCOLATE TOPPING
  10. 30 gms semisweet chocolate, chopped
  11. 1 tablespoons Dalda ghee (vegetable shortening)
  12. chopped pistachios, for garnish
  13. 1 cup amul cream

Instructions

  1. Make the Dome : Spread vanilla ice cream in an even layer on bottom and up sides of a heatproof/metal bowl.
  2. Ice cream should form a concave layer that comes up to the rim of the bowl.
  3. Freeze until set, about an hour.
  4. Meanwhile, make ganache. place chocolate and banana in a heatproof bowl.

  6. Heat cream in a saucepan until bubbles begin to form around edges.
  7. Pour over chocolate and banana, and let stand for 1 minute. Whisk until combined.
  8. Cool it.
  9. Spread chocolate-banana mixture in a thin, even layer over entire surface of vanilla ice cream layer.
  10. Freeze until firm, about an hour.
  11. Spread strawberries icecream in a flat, smooth layer over chocolate-banana mixture.
  12. Freeze until firm, about an hour
  13. Place banana cake, cut into round over chocolate ice cream top side up, and press gently until cake fits snugly against ice cream.
  14. Cover with plastic wrap, and freeze overnight (or up to 2 days).
  15. To unmold dome , dip bowl in a larger bowl of very hot water.
  16. Continue dipping bowl until dome releases when inverted onto a serving platter.
  17. Remove bowl, wipe ice cream drips off platter, and freeze until it is very firm, about 1 hour.
  18. Make the hard chocolate topping:
  19. Place chocolate and dalda ghee in a heatproof bowl and place in microwave.
  20. Keep microwaving at the burst of 30 seconds everytime till it melts
  21. Stir until chocolate and shortening melts.
  22. Let cool slightly, then slowly pour on top of dome, spiraling circles create a solid center with long drips down the sides.
  23. Sprinkle pistachios on top, and freeze until chocolate is set, about 10 minutes.
  24. Cut into pieces with warm knife and enjoy.
