Ingredients to make Banana stem curry

  • banana stem 1 medium size
  • tomatoes 2 medium size
  • garlic 8 pods
  • Dry red chillies 3
  • turmeric powder 1 1/2 teaspoon
  • salt as per taste
  • mustard seeds 2 tablespoons
  • water 2 cups
  • oil 1 tablespoon
  • cumin seeds 1 teaspoon

How to make Banana stem curry

  1. First clean the stem and remove the outer covering
  2. It will look like this
  3. Now in a bowl take a cup of water and add turmeric powder to it.
  4. Now chop it into small pieces
  5. Put it immediately into the turmeric water
  6. This will prevent blackening of the stem
  7. Chop the tomatoes
  8. In a mixer jar put the chopped tomatoes
  9. Add mustard seeds
  10. Add cumin seeds
  11. Add garlic pods
  12. Add dry red chillies
  13. Make a fine paste by adding a little water
  14. Keep the paste aside
  15. Take one tablespoon of oil in a pan
  16. When the oil becomes hot add the chopped stem pieces
  17. Saute for 2-3 minutes
  18. Now add the paste
  19. Cook for 5 minutes
  20. Now add the rest of the water and cover the pan
  21. Cook for 10 more minutes
  22. Serve hot

My Tip:

You can garnish it with coriander leaves.
