ABOUT Ripe Banana Karanji (Ghughra, Gujia) RECIPE

My mother used to make fresh Coconut Karanji every Diwali. Here I have added Ripe Banana with Semolina and Coconut.

Ingredients Serving: 2

  1. Ripe banana 1
  2. Semolina 1/2 cup
  3. Coconut grated 1/2 cup.
  4. Sugar 2 to 3 tbsp (according to taste)
  5. Blanched Almonds and Pistachio 2 tsp
  6. Cardemom 1/2 tsp
  7. Ghee 2 tsp
  8. All purpose flour 1 cup
  9. Ghee 1 tsp to add while kneading flour
  10. Oil for Deep frying

Instructions

  1. Heat ghee in a pan and roast the semolina. Let it cool.
  2. Dry roast coconut
  3. Mash Banana and to the mixture
  4. Now add sugar and Cardamom powder to the cooled semolina and Coconut mixture.
  5. Take all purpose flour and add ghee.
  6. Knead flour by adding milk with Saffron.
  7. Add blanched and chopped Almonds, Pistachios
  8. Roll a poori out of the dough
  9. place the filling and fold the poori
  10. Pull the sides of the poori and fold triangle wise to give shape of gujia.
  11. Heat oil in a pan and fry the Karanji (Gujia). Fry till you get a nice brown color.
  12. And your yummy tasty Karanji (Ghughra, gujia) is ready.
