Doi vapa chingri

Ingredients to make Doi vapa chingri

  • Shrimps 400 gms
  • For first marinate :
  • 1/2 tspn lime juice
  • 1/2 tspn pepper powder
  • 1/2 tspn ginger garlic paste
  • 2 tbspn coriander- green chilli paste
  • 1 tspn mustard oil
  • For second marinate :
  • 100 gms hung curd
  • 1 tspn red chilli powder
  • 1 tspn ginger garlic paste
  • 1 tspn cumin powder
  • 1 tspn mustard powder
  • 1 tspn poppy seed paste
  • mustard oil 2 tsp (for greasing pan and marinating)
  • salt as per taste
  • sugar 1/2 tsp
  • Slitted green chilli 3-4
  • bottle gourd leaves 4-5

How to make Doi vapa chingri

  1. Wash and clean the shrimps
  2. In a bowl add all ingredients of first marinate and put the shrimps. Keep 15 min
  3. In another bowl, beat the curd till smooth, add all ingredients of second marinate, add salt, little sugar(optional) and oil
  4. Take shrimps out from the first marinade and dip in second marinade for 15 min, add slitted green chillies
  5. Take a pan, grease it with oil.
  6. Keep the leaves over it and pour the marinated shrimps into it carefully
  7. Keep another leaves over it and wrap in such way so that all the sides will be locked and the vapor should be keep inside the leaves.
  8. Give a lid over pan. Keep 15 min in simmer.
  9. Serve hot

My Tip:

You can do it in microwave for 7/8 min.
