ABOUT Dhokla RECIPE

Dhokla mainly is a Gujarati snack. It can be served with a tea/ coffee as a perfect breakfast snack.

Ingredients Serving: 6

  1. Two cup besan
  2. Two tablespoons sooji
  3. One tablespoon oil
  4. One t.spoon sugar
  5. One teaspoon salt or acc to taste
  6. 1/4 teaspoon haldi
  7. 1/4 teaspoon red chilly powder
  8. 1/4 teaspoon citric acid/ 1 tspn vinegar
  9. One tspn lemon juice
  10. Water 2 cup
  11. Eno 2 pouch
  12. For the tempering:
  13. One tspn vegetable oil
  14. One tspn mustard seeds
  15. 4 green chilli, silt
  16. 2 tea spoon coriander chopped
  17. Curry patta leaf
  18. 2 cup water
  19. 2 tspn lemon juice and 5 tspn sugar
  20. For the Garnish:
  21. 2 tbsp finely chopped coriander leaves
  22. Kari patta leaf few

Instructions

  1. Combine the besan, sujji, sugar, lemon juice, oil, red chilly powder, salt with 2 cups of water in a deep bowl
  2. Mix well.. If batter is slightly thick, add bit of water. Keep for 5-10 minutes..
  3. Then sprinkle eno salt over it ..then sprinkle some water over it..it will become frothy..
  4. Mix well and immediately put in greased microwave safe bowl.. cover it and micro for 8 minutes.. let it cool and then cut into square pieces..
  5. For the tempering:
  6. Heat oil in a pan for 30 seconds, add mustard seeds, kari patta, 5-6 slitted green chillies fry..
  7. Now add one glass of water, 5 teaspoon sugar and lemon juice let it boil once..switch off gas...
  8. Then put khatta meetha tadke wala pani over it and wait for 10-15 minutes.. So that it absorbs water..
  9. Garnish with chopped coriander leaves and karipatta leaf.
