ABOUT Dilliwale Ram Laddoo RECIPE

Scrumptious and delicious Ram Laddoo are mouthwatering, crispy and crunchy moong dal fritters topped with shredded radish, tangy mint chutney. They make a perfect tea time snack.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. 2 cups moong yellow dal/split and husked yellow moong lentils
  2. 1/4th cup Chana Dal or split Bengal gram
  3. 1/4th cup Chana Dal or split Bengal gram 1 tsp ginger green chili paste
  4. 2 Pinch of Hing/asafoetida
  5. Salt to taste
  6. Oil for frying
  7. For serving /topping:
  8. 2 tbsp green mint coriander chutney
  9. 1/2 cup white radish grated
  10. 2tbsp Coriander leaves
  11. 1/4tsp chaat masala (optional)

Instructions

  1. Wash and soak the moong dal and chana dal for 2 hours.
  2. Grind all ingredients except oil in a mixie without water into a fine paste.
  3. The batter should not be very thick or runny.
  4. Whisk the dal batter thoroughly with your palms for about 2-3 minutes.
  5. Keep it aside in a warm place for 2 hours.
  6. Heat oil in a deep pan.
  7. Again whisk the dal batter with your palms and make it fluffy.
  8. Add a tsp of hot oil to the batter and mix well.
  9. Deep fry the small sized balls in hot oil in batches of six or eight on medium flame until golden in color and crispy.
  10. Take them out on absorbent paper.
  11. Serve hot garnished with green chutney, white grated radish, chaat masala and coriander leaves.
