Raw banana peel chutney is a sweet and tangy delicious accompaniment that pairs well with everything like roti , paratha, rice etc.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Raw banana peel - 1 Cup
  2. Tamarind pulp - 1/2 Cup
  3. Red dry chilli - 5
  4. Sugar - 1 tsp
  5. Jaggery, grated - 1 tsp
  6. Cumin seeds - 1 tsp
  7. Turmeric powder - 1 tsp
  8. Raisins - 1tsp, soaked in water
  9. Oil - 1 tsp
  10. Water - 1/2 Cup
  11. Salt as required

Instructions

  1. Apply turmeric powder and salt on raw banana peel and leave for an hour.
  2. In a pressure cooker add 1cup of water and add the raw banana peels. Pressure cook it for 2 or 3 whistle.
  3. Heat oil in apn and crackle cumin seeds then add the pressure cooked peels to it. Add all the masalas and salt, stir and cook till dry.
  4. Now add sugar, jaggery, tamarind pulp and cook for 2 minutes. Turn off the gas and let it cool.
  5. Gring the paste in a blender and your raw banana peel chutney is ready to enjoy with poori, paratha, rice etc.
