About Potoler Khosa Bata (pointed gourd peel paste) Recipe

"Potoler khosa bata" is a authentic bengali cuisine, which is combination of raw mango and pointed gourd. It is served with rice.

Potoler Khosa Bata (pointed gourd peel paste)

Ingredients to make Potoler Khosa Bata (pointed gourd peel paste)

  • Peel of 12pieces pointed gourd
  • 1piece Raw mango (Small size)
  • 3pieces Green chilli
  • 4tbsp mustard oil
  • 1tsp kalonji seeds
  • 3/4 garlic cloves (chopped)
  • salt as per taste
  • 1/2tsp turmeric powder
  • 1tsp sugar
  • 1 red chilli

How to make Potoler Khosa Bata (pointed gourd peel paste)

  1. Peel the mango, cut it into small diced.
  2. Clean the mango, peels of pointed gourd and green chilli with water.
  3. Put them in to blender, make it a smooth paste.
  4. Heat oil in a pan, add garlic and kalonji seeds.
  5. Add the mixture, turmeric powder, sugar and salt as per taste.
  6. Cook it with low flame for 8to10minutes.
  7. When the moisture is dried up properly, the mixture remove from oven.
  8. Garnish with a red chilli and served hot with rice.

My Tip:

You can add hing instead of garlic.
