Its a common maharashtrian snack, which is very quick and easy to make. Its made with thin poha, crispy and mildly spiced. Tastes best with some finely chopped onion over it.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Thin poha (flattened rice) 3 cup
  2. Green chillies 3-4
  3. Curry leaves 10-15
  4. Peanuts 1/4 cup
  5. Daliya 3 tbsp ( roasted chana dal)
  6. Powdered sugar as per taste
  7. Amchur powder as taste
  8. Chaat masala as taste
  9. Red chilli powder as taste
  10. Turmeric powder 1 tsp
  11. Mustard seeds 1 tsp
  12. Cumin seeds 1 tsp
  13. Oil 3 tbsp
  14. salt as per taste


  1. Dry roast the poha until it gets crisp, don't wait for the colour change, as it may burn.
  2. Heat some oil in a pan, roast peanuts first and then daliya, take out and keep aside.
  3. In the same pan add in mustard seeds and cumin seeds.
  4. When they crackle, add in curry leaves and green chillies roast till they turn crisp.
  5. Now add in turmeric and red chilli powder.
  6. Add this tadka to the roasted poha, also mix roasted peanuts and daliya.
  7. Add salt and mix it properly.
  8. Let it cool for sometime and then add powdered sugar , amchur powder and chaat masala, mix it gently.
  9. Your yummy snack is ready.
