ABOUT Aloo-Matar pulav RECIPE

A tasty pulav loaded with green peas. The sweetness of the green peas adds that extra zing to the rice.

Ingredients Serving: 5

  1. Rice 1/4kg
  2. Red chilli powder 1tsp
  3. Turmeric Powder 3/4 tsp
  4. coriander powder 1tsp
  5. Garam masala 1tsp
  6. oil
  7. Cumin seeds 1/2tsp
  8. Potato [Diced] 1
  9. Onion [chopped] 1
  10. Peas 1/2cup
  11. Coriander leaves a handful
  12. Whole garam masale : clove 2
  13. cinnamon stick
  14. black pepper corns 4
  15. bay leaves 4
  16. Black cardamom 1

Instructions

  1. Chop all the vegetables.
  2. In a pressure cooker, add oil . Once heated, add the whole garam masale and the cumin seeds, let them crackle.
  3. Add onion let it cook for few minutes. add chopped potato and peas into it .cook for a minute.
  4. Add the spices and required amount of salt.
  5. Wash the rice and add into the cooker, also add water which must be the double the quantity of rice.
  6. Close the lid of cooker and pressure cook till one whistle is attained. Then lower the flame and let it cook for 5 more minutes.
  7. Once the pressure is released, Garnish with chopped coriander leaves before serving.
