Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. chicken around 700 gm
  2. onion paste 1 cup
  3. ginger garlic paste 1tbsp
  4. cashew 12 pieces
  5. Poppy seed 1 tbsp
  6. yogurt 1 cup
  7. Cinamon 2 inch
  8. Green Cardamon 4-5 nos.
  9. cloves 4-5
  10. Bay leaf 1
  11. Black peppercorns 10 nos.
  12. White pepper powder 1/2 tsp
  13. coriander powder 1tbsp
  14. Kewda water 1tbsp
  15. salt as per taste
  16. sugar 1-2 tsp as per taste
  17. ghee 3-4 tbsp


  1. Firstly wash chicken and keep aside.
  2. Now Make the paste of onion and marinate the chicken with onion paste,salt,ginger garlic paste,yogurt and keep aside at least for 1 hour .
  3. Make smooth paste of cashew and poppy seed with little water and keep aside.
  4. After one hour take a non stick pan,add ghee and add all whole spices which are mentioned above and fry them until fragrance comes out from ghee.
  5. Now add marinated chicken along with the marination ,stir well and cover the pan at least for 20 minutes.
  6. After 20 minutes open the lid and add poppy & cashew paste,salt,sugar,white pepper,coriander powder and give a gentle mix to all.
  7. Again cover the pan and cook for another 20 minutes or until its cooked well.
  8. Adjust the gravy accordingly and at last add kewra water for enhance the flavour.
  9. Serve Hot with chapati,naan or pulav.
