A yummy and delicious katori chaat, which can be served as appetizers for a dinner party.

Ingredients Serving: 8

  1. 400gm refined flour or maida
  2. 50 gm rava
  3. 50gm hot oil
  4. Small tart mould 6 piece
  5. One cup boiled peas
  6. One cup boiled potato
  7. Chopped cucumber
  8. chopped onion
  9. Black salt
  10. 100 gm khajur or dates
  11. 100 gm jaggary
  12. Some fine sev
  13. 20 gm Tamarind
  14. Chat masala
  15. Red chilli powder


  1. Take tamarind, jaggery and dates & add one cup water and cook in cooker for one whistle then strain it
  2. Take maida ,add oil, rava and salt to and add some water to knead a stiff dough.
  3. Let it rest for 30 minutes.
  4. Make small roundels, roll them to form small rotis, arrange them in tart moulds. Prick them with fork.
  5. Now put a kadai on flame ,add sufficient oil for deep frying
  6. Fry the katoris with mould when you fry it the maida katori sseparates itself from mould
  7. Use all the dough to make the katoris.
  8. Store in a air tight container
  9. Now make filling. mix all the boiled & chopped potato, onion ,cucumber and peas
  10. Add red chilli powder, black salt ,chat masala and coriander leaves
  11. Arrange the mini katori on plate put the filling, pour some chutney [made with dates & jaggery earlier] on top.
  12. Put some chat masala and sev on top & serve .
