A very tasty and sweet Indian snack.


Ingredients to make Shakarpara

  • flour - 1 cup
  • sugar - 1/2 cup
  • Milk - 1/2 cup
  • salt - a pinch
  • oil - as required to fry

How to make Shakarpara

  1. Take one cup flour and mix salt and two tablespoons oil in it. Also dissolve the sugar in milk.
  2. Gradually add the sweetened milk to the flour. (You may need little less than half cup milk). Mix together till its combined well.
  3. Allow the dough to rest covered for half an hour. After that divide the dough into two parts.
  4. Roll out each part into a thick roti (1 inch thick). Cut the roti into diamond shapes.
  5. Deep fry these shakarparas on a low flame. Then let it cool down completely.
  6. You may store the shakarpara in air-tight jars.

I have been wanting to make this for ages..will just a pinch of salt be enough?
