Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. I medium size beetroot
  2. 2 medium size potatoes
  3. 2 medium size carrots
  4. 1 or 2 cubes of any processed cheese(iI used Amul)
  5. 1 small piece of ginger
  6. Salt to taste
  7. 1tsp red chilli Kashmiri
  8. 1tsp coriander powder
  9. 1-2 tsp Chaat Masala as preferred
  10. 2tbsp Gram flour/besan
  11. 2 tbsp bread crumbs
  12. Pinch of turmeric optional
  13. Oil to shallow fry
  14. 1 tbsp oil to grease palms while binding tikis

Instructions

  1. Wash potatoes, beet root & carrots, scrape carrots lightly
  2. Put to boil separately
  3. Cool and remove peel of potatoes and beet root
  4. Keep some ginger and cheese cubes ready too
  5. Grate boiled potato, beet root&carrot
  6. Now grate the cheese and ginger too, add salt pepper mix lightly, keep aside
  7. Mix the potato beet root and carrots, add seasoning and gram flour to the mix
  8. Mix well and add bread crumbs, mix well again
  9. Start making the Tikki by taking sum mix of the beet root and make a dent to do the filling of cheese and ginger
  10. Close these well form the Tikki by greasing your palm softly
  11. Keep on a greased plate to avoid sticking
  12. Heat oil to shallow fry on medium flame
  13. Lightly change sides and remove carefully as they start browning
  14. Serve with any chutney of choice
