When i heard this term in a food group with fellow member Uma aunty and bejaya di's recipe i was wondering about the taste that onion can be use in dessert too?. For curiosity i made only one bowl..but it was really really yummy.. Made it with some changes.

Ingredients Serving: 1

  1. 1/4 cup chopped white onion
  2. 250 ml milk
  3. 1 tbsp ghee
  4. 1 generous pinch of saffron soaked in water
  5. 5-6 Almonds Blanch peel and sliced
  6. 5-6 pista blanch peel and sliced
  7. 4 tbsp condensed milk or as per your taste
  8. Water to boil onion
  9. 1 tsp rose or kewara water
  10. pinch of cardamom powder
  11. 1 small beetroot peel and boil it.

Instructions

  1. First peel and chopped white onion finely.
  2. Boil it in water for 10 minutes ..Strain it and keep it aside. after boiling rawness and smell of onion will goes out..
  3. Heat a pan . Add ghee. Fry these onion in ghee.
  4. Add milk and mix well.
  5. Add condensed milk and sliced nuts. Add saffron water.
  6. Add 1 tbsp boil beetroot water
  7. Mix well. Boil it for another 10 minutes on low medium flame.
  8. When kheer become thick Add rose/kewara water mix well.
  9. Garnish it with crushed pistachios, and saffron.
  10. Serve hot or chill..
